Introduction
This portion of the eportfolio is dedicated to my course work at UBC in the Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program (ISGP). I will aim to make this blog useful to anyone interested in the field of online film education, which is the area of study I am pursuing. It is exciting to think about the future at UBC and this PhD and to imagine what this blog may look like in four years from now.
I have completed my fourth course, ETEC 510 Design of Technology-Supported Learning Environments, which is being taught online. I am quite impressed with the structure and nature of the course, including the depth of the course material, the layout of the course site and the breadth of the students enrolled.
Previously, I completed:
EDCP 571 96A (Lecture) History of Media and Technology in Education
ETEC 511 Foundations Educational Technology
ETEC 522 Ventures in Educational Technology
The picture above was taken by the shoreline in Vancouver two years ago, which is the time I first thought of doing a PhD at UBC. I found Vancouver so beautiful, I thought to myself, I need a reason to come here for a long time. This was the kernel of what led me to apply to UBC and was followed by being completely impressed with the course and program offerings of UBC. Even though much of the work I will be doing is online, I feel it is important to have a connection to the place where I am studying.
